Bourges
The Bourges 24 hour race walk is another race on the French calendar and a qualifier for the annual Paris Alsace race.
The race is held at the end of February/early March every year and is organised by US Berry Athlétisme. The 24 hour race frequently incorprates the French 24 hours and 100km championships.
As with other Paris Alsace qualifiers, there is chip timing with a results screen for competitors to check their progress throughout the race.
The circuit is measured by a calibrated bicycle in accordance with the rules of World Athletics.
The race start is at the Carré d’Auron district of Bourges and continues on the large circuit of 2,5 km.
From 12h15, Sunday, athletes use a shorter lap of 633 m until the finish where the race is judged from within the area of the Carré d’Auron.

This race has attracted many Centurions over the years for both the 24 hour race and the 6 hour stage races. It is well organised in a quiet part of the city with plenty of room for cars, camper vans and tents. The organisers also provide tents, tables and chairs for those who require them. See images below.
